For the 12,000 drunk drivers who receive exemptions each year, a new bill might require a bright license plate with the letters, DUI in an orange/pink coral color. According to the Herald, the bill passed 6-1 in a House Criminal Justice Committee meeting yesterday. The bill would only be applicable to those drivers who have special work circumstances or other unavoidable driving requirements. At $20 a piece, the license plates would generate $240,000 which would then be donated to trauma centers throughout the state.
